Reading the Pier Road sensor…
The web page shows today. The app does the deciding.
Pier Road is the largest public car park in St Helier by some margin, and the numbers show it has capacity to spare almost every day of the year. On a typical weekday it bottoms out with around 354 spaces still free, and across the whole record it has spent roughly 2 hours completely full.
That makes it the obvious answer when everywhere else is tight. The trade-off is the walk: it sits at the eastern end of town below Fort Regent, so you are a few minutes further from King Street than you would be from Sand Street or Minden Place. If you are staying all day and you would rather not gamble, this is the safe choice.
Based on 54,606 recorded arrivals at Pier Road between 16 January and 22 July 2026. Days when the counter was faulty are excluded.
