Long stay or short stay?
The long stay car parks are Pier Road, Patriotic Street,
Green Street and Les Jardins, all £1.10 an hour between 8am and 5pm,
Monday to Saturday, and free on Sundays and bank holidays. Pier Road is the
largest and the one that almost never runs out. Les Jardins is the one that
goes first, usually before nine in the morning.
For a shorter visit, Sand Street, Minden Place and Charles Street
are the short stay options, with a three hour maximum at Minden Place and
Charles Street. Sand Street allows longer but its tariff escalates sharply
after three hours. Charles Street is the only public car park in St Helier
that charges on a Sunday, and its hours run to 8pm.
Which one will have space?
That depends on when you arrive, which is the whole point of the app. Tell it
where you are going and it works out the drive, then picks the car park that should
still have room by the time you pull in, weighing the walk and the price too.
